How much tax is paid on Florida lottery winnings ?

I didn’t win, and I don’t live in the U.S., I’m just curious lol. If someone won the $5000 a week for life scratch-off what would they actually get?

There is no gambling tax. It’s income tax, same as if you made the money at a job. So depending on your total income will tell how much tax is removed…

How much of the Florida Lottery do you get if…?

I hear that a state lottery winner can get all the won money, but it is paid in installments.

For the impatient, they will pay a lump sum that is less than what they would get if they waited.

What would the percentage be, after taxes?

I’m looking at a theoretical number. 3 million. 30% tax takes a million off the top. How would the lump sum be calculated?

It’s usually about half of the total estimated jackpot. Sometimes a little less.

What is the overall odd on the back of the Florida lottery ticket?

So, on the back of the ticket, it said the overall odd is 4.63. Does it means that if I buy 7 tickets, I will get a winner ticket?

No. Absolutely not. You could buy 7 tickets and they could ALL be losers if you’re even just a little unlucky. If you’re very lucky, you might find 4 or 5 winners out of 7 tickets sometimes.

4.63 just means that ON AVERAGE you’ll win once for every 4.63 tickets you buy.

So if you buy 463 tickets, you SHOULD find 100 winners out of all those tickets. If you actually go out right now and buy 463 tickets, you almost certainly will be very close to that 100-winner mark. My guess is that you’d find at least 92 winning tickets, and probably no more than 108 winning tickets.

Here is the important part, and what you should REALLY be thinking about. HOW MUCH MONEY WILL YOU GET??? Does it really matter if you win once every 4.63 tickets if you only win a buck???

So – just how much can you expect to make? THAT I can tell you, believe it or not. You can EXPECT to get back approximately 1/2 of the amount of money that you spend on scratch off tickets. So go out and buy $100 worth of lottery tickets. ON AVERAGE you’ll "win" back around $50. Go spend $1,000 on scratch tickets. On average you’ll "win" back only around $500.

This is the truth. If you don’t believe me, KEEP TRACK! Keep track of every dollar you spend and every dollar you win while playing scratch tickets. You’ll end up getting back an average of 50 cents for every dollar you spend.

At a 50% take, this makes playing lottery tickets the WORST bet anyone can possibly make.

How come Florida lottery winning numbers always go from lowest to highest?

Check the website, the show the winners and their numbers, the always go from lowest number to highest.

Because after the numbers are drawn, the place them in numerical order so that it is easier to check your numbers.

If you check your ticket you will see that no matter what order you picked your numbers, they too are in numerical order.

You win by matching numbers, it doesn’t matter what order those numbers are drawn in.

How do they calculate how much you get for cash option in the Florida Lottery?

I’m just curious as to how they calculate how much you get for the cash option in the Powerball or any other lottery.

The amount of the jackpot is automatically split in half. You will then need to pay taxes on the cash out amount. So, if the jackpot is 50 million dollars, the cash option would be 25. Figure 35% taxes and you would end up with 16.25 million dollars.

Was Florida Lottery scratch offs ticket better in chance of wins in 1987 than today’s?

Was the Florida lottery ticket better in 1987?

Scratch tickets have always had around a 50% take. This means if you buy $100, you should expect to "win" around $50. If you spend $1,000 on scratch tickets (maybe in a month or two), then you will have probably "won" back around $500.

At 50%, this makes scratch tickets the worst bet anyone can ever make.

By the way – if you don’t believe me, KEEP TRACK! Over time you will see that I am right. Expect to get 50 cents back for every dollar you spend as an average.

Has these Florida Lottery numbers won before?

I want to know if these numbers:
07 09 16 18 32 45 ; have won before in Florida Lottery, and how much was won.

Since the Florida Lottery began, that combination has not won. Out of that combination, there was one 4 number hit on 6/23/01 1 7 12 16 18 32. You will have to check the official website to see what the exact payout was.
